Minister’s Assessment Delivered – Belsar-Yungera and Hattah Lakes North EES
The release of the Minister for Planning’s assessment concludes the Environment Effects Statement (EES) process for the Hattah Lakes North and Belsar-Yungera Victorian Murray Floodplain Restoration Projects.
The Hattah Lakes North and Belsar-Yungera projects are two of nine floodplain restoration projects proposed as part of Victoria’s response to the declining health of high-value Murray River floodplains due to river regulation and climate change.
We welcome the Minister for Planning’s assessment and the advice provided.
The project team will now work through the assessment in consultation with relevant stakeholders to consider and address the Minister’s recommendations, which will in turn inform broader delivery of the Victorian Murray Floodplain Restoration Project and the Basin Plan.
